I called Scandinavian Airlines and was once again told I was shit out of luck.
I assured the customer service rep that I did not feel entitled because of my medical condition, but that since they could not guarantee a meal that won't make me sick, the least they could do is allow me to bring a lunch bag. When I asked why a lunch bag would be in the way but a toddler with car seat and diaper bag wouldn't, all she said was "rules are rules and they must be followed." She also tried to blame TSA by saying that they will not allow me to take food out of the country. When I told her that they do indeed allow it, she gave me the rules are rules line again.
I will spare you the details of the ways that my Facebook friends came up with to get food on the plane. Let's just say they involve a diaper bag and adult diapers... and I would probably have the whole area to myself.
I love the fact that they won't even address a complaint from me until after the trip. Way to go, customer service!
Luckily, I am only planning to take the bare necessities when it comes to emergency food, so it shouldn't be an issue. All I can say is I really hope they get my GF meals right. They wouldn't like me when I have been glutened.
